Obama and the democrats are proposing a massive bailout on top of the 750 billion package that didn't work. Neither did it work for Japan in the 90's, and it was a miserable failure in the 30's with Roosevelt's "New Deal" which, as has been documented here: http://www.amazon.com...PROLONGED the depression by several years.

Rather than buying or borrowing that book, here is a link to brief highlights: http://www.amazon.com...

I may remind you that Bush was the one who first picked the amount as out from a hat, with no strings attached and no transparrency.

These hackers from Wall Street should not be bailed out, they should be jaield and stripped for all riches so they could prove their true patriotism.

Would it matter to you who was pushing forward this stimulus package, or are your critisism based on partisanship?

About 20 days ago, Hussein said it very clearly that only HIS Government could be able to get US out of the financial crises. Mark the words, his government.
Today he was different, so he is covering or explaining away another of his lies.
You are right about FDRs mess-up with the then recession. It was NOT his New Deal that got US out of its problems, but WW2.

Mr. Bush, the God of all things good and right as per the 2 blind mice ExNasa and Globetrotter, will carry his guilt to the grave. Unfortunately he is/was as blind as those two and too stupid to realize what he has left us with.

Agree - the 'hackers from Wall Street' should be buried alive, and a few banks should be shut down as well, but that obviously is not happening. The CEO's are still at it, spending like pigs on their opulent lifestyles while firing 1000's of low level workers.

Oh don't talk about the CEOs be burried alive.

That sounds almost like class warfare. And that's just as freedom hating socialism... ;-)

ExNASA,

I absoluteley agree with you that the proposed bailout package, just like that one that has already been approved, is counterproductive. Obama and the democrats are not alone to blame for this. The Republicans are equally culpable. The Bush adminitrastion proposed the first bailout package. Many republicans did not comply, but dissident democrats like Bob Sherman and Dennis Kucinich also opposed this. The biggest failure of all is not to remedy the monetary system.

Bush made a big mistake when he listened to the only democrat in his administration, and the one with Wall Street experience, but that is not the point. The point is that Obama has for months been pushing for a "New 'New Deal'" which brilliant 21st century economists have concluded will be hughe boondoggle. The bill passed by Nancy Pelosi and the House democrats (not one republican voted in favor, and 11 democrats voted NAY with the republicans) has plenty of PORK and virtually zero stimulus.

As a result, Rush Limbaugh has written a Wall Street Journal guest editorial proposing a genuine bipartisan compromise proposal: http://online.wsj.com...With his proposed solution we can once and for all settle the debate between the keynesian economists that believe in BIG government and the supply side economists that believe that tax cuts emphesizing job formation is the fastest way out of a recession.

Rush Limbaugh is the løast one to come with advice about economic policies.

And all you manage to do is to point a partisan finger on behalf of your decider in chief.

It was a democrat who was responsible for thye 1st bailout!

Which reality do you live in? Seriously.

When the GOP was in power, bipartisan compromises were looked upon almost as a treason during the Bush years. And you have to pick up the tab,and will soon put the blame on all your miseries (the "freest", "richest" country on earth), even when you know who and what caused it.

It`s you who caused your own damages. Not liberals, not "leftist". But you the voters who in a brainless frenzy of nationalism voter for war,and you wonder where your tax dollars went? The money that Bush has squandered away in Iraq?
Yoju voted for a chimp turned evangelical with a few run down oild companies for track record. You voted for a war criminal in the 2nd round.

My views on the Wall Street bailout is clear though.

Let the ivy league and the Wall Street pirates rot. Through them to the sharks and strip them for the billions of dollars they have taken out in bonuses alone last year. I thought you only got a bonus when your coorporation went surplus?

Let Wall street collaps, and start spending the 800 billion dollars on something useful.

But not in Bush's America. In Bush's America you get punished and oppressed by the government for telling the truth, and get fat not bifd contracts and bonuses as a reward for betting on the right horse during the last election, and get pardoned for covering up the truth, and committing high treason.

The America I have witnessed last year has been a display of bizzarro world that only a creationist can condone.

I hope ypu feel safer knowing tyhat Bush has been able to listen to your phone conversation and yor overseas intenet surfing since he was able to whine his FISA laws. That was by the way the worst kind of disrepect for anyone with more than two working braincells.

That was a time when he put telecoms immunity higher than your safety.

You are a partisan ideologue. You put your twisted partisanship ahead of "your"t country. And the GOP has for a long time been the party for the the fatcats, and you now, you got a bunch of evangelical rapture freaks on your team, wishing for another ww3 just so they can experience Armageddon and get their imaginary raptre to happen.

Mix that with some crypto trotskyism called neo- conservatism, and you get just as an explosive force as any islamic fundie with a bomb belt around his waist, an AK47 and the quean in his hands...

Good luck with HUSSEIN O. as your debate patner globie calls him.

Don't be sore losers now. Show your patriotism. The same patriotism you demanded from any liberal whom had his head together and started asking awkward questions about the Bush agenda and was attacked for being anti american.
The Obama bashing started 20 hours into his precidency. That bashing and hatred comes from RW news outlets who caqll themselves fair and balanced. Not even the most uncompromising liberal Bush hater was that fast on the trigger.

Fon't you usually give your elected king at least a 100 days first?

How dare you even mention that pig traitor Rush Limbaugh's name - are you actually stupid enough to think that man has anything worthwhile to offer decent Americans?
That man said last week on national radio "he hopes Obama fails!"
What is it he hopes Obama will fail at? Restoring the economy? Stopping the avalanche of foreclosures sending decent Americans - and children - into the streets? Restore the jobmarket? Lower the unemployment? Open up the credit/mortgage market? Putting an end to the greedy gd crooks that run our financial system? establishing a health care system that won't cause you to lose your house and your cars if your child has cancer? Or does he hope Obama will fail at stopping the terrorists in their tracks?

It doesn't matter whether you are a conservative or a Liberal, a democrat or a republican. What matters at this point in our economy is that we succeed in whatever way that will work to bring us back to a point where Americans, young and old, rich and poor and those in-between can live each day without worrying
if they'll be on the street the next day .

What will work to fix this? Nobody knows, and I make that observation because
75 years have passed since Roosevelt's 'New Deal' and the 'great' historians and the 'great' economists are still debating whether it aided in bringing us back from the brink of disaster or whether it was the war. And guess why - they're a bunch of pompous, egomaniacal men!
If the latter is true then all I can say - let's have another 'f'in war and kill a few thousand or million more people, so the rest of us can wallow in wasteful spending another 50 years until the bottom drops out again!!

Rush Limbaugh a self-proclaimed conservative republican hopes Obama will fail - This is what the republican party stands for - That America fails?

Next time around the likes of you are welcome to vote for Palin, Rush Limbaugh
and Joe the Plumber ----

<<That man said last week on national radio "he hopes Obama fails!" What is it he hopes Obama will fail at?>>

My God, did he really say that, a regular Benedict Arnold he is, you ought to start marching in protest immediately, Cindy Sheehan will join you as soon as you find 2 more willing to leave home and fight for your liberation.

I have never agreed with Limbaugh more than this, Obama must fail, no American with a conscience will want this shaper and maker of socialism to win. He has zero interest in a “package” that will stimulate the economy, that is not his agenda, which is a proven fact evidenced by the program he has proposed.

His program has nothing to do with stimulation or gaining a robust economy, and he knows it. He knows the recession will be over in 2 years no matter what he or the government does, and his program neither will nor can it hasten it for the simple reason it is not designed to. It’s a scam, and believe me, more and more liberals are aware of it.

The program, with interest over the next ten years will cost 1.2 TRILLION and if it produces 4 million jobs over the next 2 years, it won’t, each job will have cost the U.S. taxpayer $290,000.00..Reduce corporate income taxes and suspend all capital gains taxes for 2-3 years and we will experience a labor shortage, AND INCREASE TAX REVENUES FOR THE GOVERNMENT.

The problem with that is it will not lead to ever larger government and socialism and therefore of little or no appeal to Obama.

You think Bush was a big spender, and he was, his deficit was to GDP was 2.7%, the highest ever was 6.3% under Reagan, Obama will be in a class of his own, it will be 12.5% to GPD, and he has not even touched health care yet.

You, in your infinitely retarded wisdom, voted for the most liberal most politically socialistically oriented individual this country has ever elected, who has now embarked on a program of social and economic engineering that will forever change the country to a sister and brotherhood state with the “old world” contaminated by tired aspirations and spent and wasted hope of better times.

<<75 years have passed since Roosevelt's 'New Deal' and the 'great' historians and the 'great' economists are still debating whether it aided in bringing us back from the brink of disaster or whether it was the war>>

There is no disagreement, it was the war. Roosevelt managed to do what has never been done before, or since. He “grabbed” the depression, cradled and preserved it through his absolute stupidity and for his effort was awarded with another steep recession in 1937 while the Nation was still in its first depression. He was a liberal and a democrat which explains it.

It was not our “deepest” depression, that was in 1893, but it was by far the longest.

Obama wants to create a socialist state and I want him to fail .

I have adopted a wait and see attitude along with a fervent prayer that all the greedy, depraved capitalists that caused this mess, will meet a slow and painful death by starvation and freezing in below 0 temperatures. This will not only save America and prevent future disasters of a like kind as death by example will strike all those who even dare to entertain thoughts of bringing America to it's knees for purely peronal gains.

This is the only sensible attitude yo have.

As for you old man - get your butt off the john, you're beginning to smell of old age and stagnant, repetetive, hot and bloated air that is meaningless in this century.

I have hope - you have nothing but a bad, narrowminded and selfish attitude that is so outdated in this global world.

You voted for a “socialist lite” and and as he moves forward and discover the likes of you are in plenty supply he will push it to the limit.

You think the bankers and the traders are bad, you think they are corrupt and have brought the economy to its knees, what they have absconded with is loose change, they are penny pinchers compared to Obama and his gang of thieves are about to do to us.

What Obama has set in motion will not work, it never has in the past, and I guarantee you when the bill hits the senate tomorrow morning it will be literally torn to shreds and they will start all over, which will make Pelosi look like the damned fool she is.

You say you have hope, that is all democrats ever have.

Curves, Here you are displaying your slobbering love affair with Obama for everyone in this forum to see. You know absolutely nothing about economics, but that doesn't stop you from offering your "criticism" of Rush Limbaugh and his genuine proposal. The Wall Street Journal accepted it, but Curves thinks it should have been rejected. Wow, how perceptive!

When Obama is attempting to ram a trillion dollars worth of pork down our throats, saddling my grandchildren with more debt than all previous presidents combined, then HE MUST FAIL An Obama failure is best for the United States of America.

In your latest rant you are again displaying your total ignorance of the causes of the present downturn in the economy. You have to go back to the administration of "The Useless One", Jimmy Carter, who pushed through legislation mandating banks to give housing loans to those that couldn't afford them. The situation was made worse by the Clinton Administration with the help of Barney Frank and his minions, all DEMOCRATS. Senator Dodd (democrat) and Barney Frank (democrat) have made oodles of money while they were stopping audutors from pointing out the time bomb.

Curves, I suggest that you get at least a minimum education (along with strider) to make sure your brain is engaged before opening your mouth.

The funny thing is that the very person who partly facilitated the 'bailout' of these bankers and 'hackers' is Obama's new Treasury Secretary ... you know, the tax cheat who supposedly was too brainy to be denied the position (until he disappointed everybody)?

How's your 'Hope and Change' mantra going these days? Do you remember our discussion about Obama's tendency to form dubious connections?
